It was the stunning views of Midland Park, the city’s favourite green retreat, that inspired us to give the hotel its name. Originally the site of the Spanish-styled Midland Hotel on Lambton Quay, the land was purchased by Wellington City Council in the 1970s for the creation of a city park.
